Ideal insulation for trade and cargo vans

It’s definitely been a busier season for cargo vans. Lots of trades have been updating their vehicles and setting them up right by spray foaming the back end right at the beginning.

Spray foam applications are ideal for insulating trade and cargo-related vans. If you have a service vehicle that has to be out in extreme cold this winter, spray foaming the interior of your vehicle can help prevent cold from getting in. Spray foam provides the highest R-value at R-7 and besides being a great insulator it can keep metal vehicle walls from condensation and tap down exterior sound.

Spray foam insulation should be installed by an expert for the best results. Call Insul-Foam at 403-248-6616 to arrange an appointment today.

Unique project for specialty welding shop

The images below show an interesting little job we recently did for a specialty welding shop out of High River, Alberta. They do some very unique projects and this one was one of those. Applying a one inch application to these aluminum panels was the goal here. It’s very important to have a good pattern on the gun and have the right temperature and pressure dialed in.

Certified spray foam/containment applications

Insul-Foam Services provides spill safety and containment of chemicals preventing leakage and environmental contamination.

Polyurethane elastomeric linings provide excellent performance in immersion service while being more versatile than conventional sheet systems. These 100% solids are abrasion-resistant membranes and have an excellent adhesion and a low-perm rating that prevents degradation of the substrate from chemicals or water.

Recommended applications include, but are not limited to:

  • Leak-proof membranes for chemical storage and/or for underground dump sites to prevent leakage or spills of liquid waste or toxic products
  • Corrosion proof protection for steel storage tanks, underground pipes, silos, ducts, boats and bridges
  • Waterproofing and protecting walls, ceilings and roofs
  • Impervious membrane for tunnels, dykes, ponds, concrete basins, septic tanks and reservoirs
  • Anti-abrasion protective membranes for mining equipment, crushers, truck beds, sand and salt spreaders and heavy machinery
  • Sealant for cracks in metal, pavement or concrete
  • Protective encapsulations for polyurethane and polystyrene foams

If you’d like to talk to us about a FREE, no obligation quote for your spray foam or containment project, get in touch at 403-248-6616.

Spray foam can fill any sealant need!

Polyurethane spray (spray foam) use is only limited by the imagination. Wherever a sealant is needed spray foam can fill the need.

It is commonly used as building insulation or for construction purposes. Spray foam has a high R-value and it has impressive thermal resistance properties. Being moisture-resistant and pliable, it comes in handy for out of the way places where other common materials would become awkward in application.

In this example where a new building was connected to an existing older structure a few stories up from ground level, the point of contact on the older structure needed to be sealed from the outside for moisture resistance, while insulating the interior against winter temperatures.

No job is too large, and no customer is too small. Spray foam insulation is used in both residential and commercial applications because of its ability to seal and insulate structures.

If you have a spray foam job for Insul-Foam Services give us a call at 403-248-6616. We look forward to discussing our spray foam applications and solutions with you.

Spray foam perfect for hot tub insulation

Did you know that not all hot tubs are insulated equally and that there are many types of hot tub insulation? It’s true. The less insulation, the less energy efficiency. And…the better the insulation, the less work it takes for your hot tub to function optimally.

You can make your outdoor hot tub experience more comfortable during the fall and winter months by adding additional insulation to it. Spray foam around the hot tub’s cabinet traps warmth in the tub and does not allow it to escape keeping the water hot.

In a previous project, Insul-Foam Services sprayed multiple layers of spray foam to prevent plumbing leaks and cracks in the shell of this giant tub built for a resort. You can see the extent of the shell, plumbing and equipment needed to insulate against the cold, the frost and the elements in the images below.

Give us a shout at 403-248-6616 if you have hot tub insulation questions or to arrange an appointment for your hot tub installation. We’d be happy to be of service.

What is intumescent coating?

Insulfoam Services Intumescent CoatingAn intumescent is a substance that swells when it is exposed to heat. When exposed to high temperatures it can expand to 100 times its original application and the heat creates a light char which works to retard heat transfer.

Usually used in fire protection, intumescent coatings have to comply with the national building codes and laws. They incorporate flame-retardant chemicals to achieve two distinct industry efficacy ratings. Intumescent coatings are typically applied to the inside of buildings for a more aesthetic form of fire prevention.

If you have an application that requires an intumescent coating, get in touch for more information about this highly effective product. We’d be happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have or arrange an appointment for a FREE estimate.
