We recently spray foamed a basement in a 108 year old home. I’m sure that the addition of the closed-cell spray foam (Genyk Boreal Nature) will change the feel of this basement in a big way.
Closed-cell spray foam insulation has the best R-value per inch and cost of any readily available insulation. Closed-cell spray foam is not vapor permeable and will not hold water, it expands to seal gaps, cracks and voids in walls and ceilings, and blocks air leaks better than other forms of insulation.
